From 2005-2009 I lived in Spain, Japan and Canada and enjoyed a thriving teaching career. I love the Japanese language and culture and can speak it conversationally but not fluently.
My grandmaman was from Quebec, and so it was that I attended a French school from 3-16 years old. The language was most useful to me when I visited Tunisia in 2004 with the university of Cantabria. Since 2013 I have been a teacher for the scdsb both as Core French and now in the French Immersion program.
I studied and lived in Spain in 2003 for one year and then returned to teach in 2007. What I most like about Spain is the street culture. There is always a side street you have yet to explore, always some little cafe to experience and lots of fiesta! I lived in Santander, which is the capital of Cantabria, in the north of Spain. It is on a peninsula and although the water is cold and salty, the sand is soft and hot sunny days are plentiful.
