One of my missions is to use less plastic, which means to buy less.
I am an avid ingredient reader and more often than not things are better made at home.
Here are some of my favourite recipes for making your own health and beauty products!

I now call this "Everything spray" It started off as a spray for my toilet paper to clean my bum. Then I got a bum gun so I don't need it for that anymore. Here are some of the uses... replaces baby wipes, replaces expensive poo-purri, bug spray, air freshening, spray on sunburn, spray on bug bites
SO EASY TO MAKE!!! Main ingredient = witch hazel (sells next to peroxide.) 1/5 aloe vera juice 1/5 olive oil 7-10 drops of lavender essential oil. Fill the rest up with witch hazel but leave room to shake.

Ok, clearly I was making a joke but lipbalm really isn't that hard to make. I use equal parts Cocoa butter and Beeswax. DONE. I know some people that add essential oils. Again... lots of recipes online. |

Bees wax wraps... you've maybe seen them online. Kind of expensive but SUPER EASY TO MAKE!! Just cover a breathable fabric such as organic cotton with SHREDDED bees wax then place it in the oven on a cookie sheet at 170 degrees (low heat setting.) (About 15 minutes) Make sure you use a cookie sheet that you don't need to use again for anything other than beeswax! You can even use those disposable aluminium ones and just keep reusing it. Take it out of the oven and use clothes pins to attach it to a ribbon or rope or anything to dry. Take about 3 minutes to dry. Act quick! lol. |

Heat all ingredients (Except zinc) in a double boiler. When melted remove from heat and stir in zinc. If possible choose a jar that doesn't allow light to enter. However any jar will do! |
 |
The most basic sunscreen you can make (IMO) is coconut oil mixed with powdered zinc oxide (which you can buy very affordable online, or even from your local pharmacy.)
Basically when you make sunscreen you need a hard oil, a soft oil and a liquid oil and it's the BEESWAX that gives it the creamy texture. Otherwise it's either rock hard or liquid. So don't leave out the beeswax. It is KEY!
BEESWAX also makes this sunscreen water proof. |

Toilet bombs get dropped in the toilet, then give it a quick scrub and voila! So clean.
Citric acid does a great job dissolving minerals and removing stains.
They take about 5 minutes to make and are so easy to use my toilet is ALWAYS clean.
So easy that even a four year old can make them! lol |
There are lots of recipes on the internet, but basically I mix coconut oil and baking soda, then add charcoal only if you want.
- You can use any essential oils that you like.
- 1/2 Tea spoon of Activated Charcoal
- 2 Table spoons of Baking Soda
- 2 Table spoons of Coconut Oil

Homemade popsicles are
EASY PEASY!!!! |

Blend Coconut water OR maple water
with fruit of choice. Frozen or fresh.
Then heat and add gelatin.
(I use flavour free but use jello, it's all good!) |
 |
This makes it really easy for pouring into
Molds. |
 |
See? Easy peasy :)
(Way easier than lining up these pictures in blogger!!) |
